After working at McGill University and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, I grew the research communications business I launched in 2003 into a consultancy focusing on knowledge transfer, research navigation, and business/soft-skills and science communications training for scientists.
My clients are mostly university research networks and knowledge-based organizations. They benefit from a reliable, focused partner who cuts through barriers so they don’t have to.
I know my stuff, I get things done, I work well with others—and I am eager to turn innovation into value for society. I like working with interesting people on interesting projects, preferably ones that have a real impact in our world. If they’re difficult, need rescuing or nobody else will touch them, I like them even more.
Some projects I am proud of: a workshop providing practical learning on counter-knowledge and mistrust in science, and how to communicate effectively; a white paper for the Chief Science Advisor of Canada on how to communicate aquaculture science findings and policy decisions to Canadians; best practice guidelines for pediatric concussion that got 25,000 hits within 24 hours of release; $10 million grant application won in spite of being an underdog in the competition; knowledge transfer strategies for innovations that brought solid leads for new partners.
I am a Co-founder of the Institute for Knowledge Mobilization and a member of Evidence for Democracy's Network of Experts. I sit (or sat) on national and international boards supporting the ethical and accessible communication of science, and a national advisory committee promoting the protection of intellectual property. I am fluently bilingual (English/French). I hold a Secret clearance from the Government of Canada.
